+ How do I pay for therapy?
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. If you are interested in individual, couples, or group therapy please contact me to discuss the rates for these services.
+ Do you take insurance?
I am considered an out-of-network provider, which means that I do not work directly with any insurance companies. My services, however, may qualify for reimbursement under many PPO insurance plans. I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to determine your out-of-network mental health coverage. The following questions may be helpful to discuss with your insurance carrier:
       • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
       • What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
       • Once I hit my out-of-network deductible, what percentage will my insurance cover?
       • Is there a limit my insurance will pay for a 45-minute session (service code 90834)?
       • Is precertification required?
I am happy to discuss any questions you may have about this information.
Additionally, if you plan to use your out-of-network benefits, I will help you complete all necessary forms to submit to your insurance carrier. I will also provide you with a monthly statement of services, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. However, you, and not your health insurance carrier, are responsible for payment.
+ How long and how frequent are sessions?
Individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes, couples therapy sessions are 60 minutes, and group therapy sessions are 75 minutes. Many people begin therapy with weekly sessions; however, depending on your needs, more frequent sessions can be scheduled.
+ When do you have appointments available, and are you meeting in-person or virtually?
I offer daytime sessions during the business week. Sessions are by appointment only. I am offering both in-person and virtual appointments. I am a participating PsyPact psychologist, which means I am authorized to practice across many state lines. Click here to learn more and to see if I can provide psychotherapy in your state.
+ How do I schedule an appointment?
Feel free to contact me by phone (202-930-1350) or by email (taylor@drtaylorlerner.com) to schedule an initial session. Additionally, before our first in-person appointment, I offer a brief, complimentary phone consultation to get a sense of your needs and to answer any questions you may have.
+ Is there anything I should do before my first session?
There are forms for you to complete before we start our work together. To save time, feel free to download and complete these forms and bring them with you to our initial meeting.
